More Rain !!

BALI

I meet Michel at the river and the thunder storms and heavy showers of yesterday had brought the river up, not a lot but quite a lot of colour, we had a drive about to see if we could find any better spots, but every stream had coloured up so we decided to head for the hills and fish a remote mountain lake, as we head up hill the skies didn’t look the best and the wind was blowing, not the nicest weather but sometimes better for the fishing, the last time I fished this lake the fish were rising all over the place but right out in the middle of the lake and very hard to catch, after the long walk we came over the hill to the little bowl the lake sits in, it had a fair chop on the water and after around 20 minutes we didn’t see a fish rise so I tackled Michel up with a floating line and a long leader and a slightly weighted fly, as we worked our way along the bank nothing was happening then all of a sudden a fish was on and a very angry fish it was not very big but wouldn’t give up, Michel was amazed at the size of the fish for the fight it put up , around 3 cast latter another and better fish was on and landed, again one hell of a fight.

We kept moving and casting and by the end of our session Michel had caught 5 fish, the real big shame was the camera as it had packed up so we didn’t have the pictures.
