At Last

After having a pair of chest waders for his birthday D has been asking when he could go and get them wet and as chest waders go hopefully only on the outside, well it had been no stop rain for a long time, finally the weather has changed but from one extreme to another, the rain has gone and now it’s rather chilly, mind better than rain any day as we can get out for a while and have a fish.

D looked a million dollars in his new gear and I was very proud, I thought that I would just stand in the water with him and see how he would take to it, he took to it well the only problem was I found it a little worrying as a parent as at that age they can’t see the danger, so while he wanted to fish I didn’t, mind it was fantastic to see him getting into better places and areas to fish, after just a short period he had caught two grayling and lost what seemed to be a lot better fish, by this time it was quarter to four and the temp was dropping faster than a tungsten bug with a 5mm bead on it, so time for home.
