Keep It Up

I have fished as long as I can remember, so when my son showed a real interest to come fishing with dad, I was only to happy to take him, I have been keeping his fly fishing really basic and fun, I think fun is the main thing whether he catches or not, and to be honest he is doing quite well on the catching front.

The one problem we have had is he is keener than this horrible summer will allow him to go, the rivers have been up and down every five minutes, so the other day when he was keen to go and the river was chocolate brown he asked if he could make some flies to put in his new fly box, he has had the odd go before so I thought that’s a good idea he could lose his own flies instead of mine, with a little help from me mainly tying some materials in and whip finishing the fly off he made the three flies above, they did take quite a while to make, but they came out really good.

All he has to do now is speed up a bit and he can start filling my boxes !
