The Sun Is Shinning

Richard has booked me for three days, as he says he’s a total novice and now retired wants to get into fly fishing, day one went very well  we went through all the safety side of things , setting up the gear correctly ( as it wasn’t), knots and then onto roll and overhead casting, with Richard being a quick learner, his casting was very good for a first timer, get both roll and overhead to a reasonable standard off both his right and left shoulder, shooting line and false casting, I  hope the sun keeps shinning for the rest of his visit and picks up the rest of the things to learn just as quick.

Day 2 and the sun is still shinning, Richards casting was a lot better than the day before, seemed to be finding a lot easier, so towards the end of the day we decided to have a few hour on the fishing side of things, I explained the insect life, where the fish should be, how to set up a fly cast and how to fish it and the proof of the pudding a nice graying took the nymph, thought Richard was going to catch on a dry as well, but the fish was there and gone it a flash.
